Leros Island Transportation

Leros Island Transportation

Turkey, Athens or from other islands is quite easy to travel to Leros. Visitors can take a flight or ferry to Leros.

Leros is a small island and distances can be covered with local buses. In particular, daily buses serve routes to Xirokambos, Lakki and Alinda from Agia Marina. There are also buses linking Platanos with Agia Marina.

Renting a car or motorbike is a nice idea to get around the island. Rental agencies can be found in Agia Marina, Lakki, Alinda and other tourist spots in Leros. Taxis are also many and can be usually found in the taxi stations at the port.

Another transportation alternative to the island of Leros is to pass from Bodrum by ferry to Kos and from Kos to Leros.

Leros Ferry

You can reach Kos Harbor by a 1-hour ferry ride from Bodrum Port and then take the Leros ferry to Leros Port in 1 hour and 40 minutes. In addition, you can go directly to Leros with ferry services from Turgutreis which take place 2 days a week.

There are ferries to Leros from Piraeus, the main port of Athens, 4 times a week. These ferries also connect Leros to other islands of Dodecanese, including Rhodes, Patmos, Kos, Kalymnos, and Lipsi. There are also daily ferries to Leros from Rhodes, the largest island of Dodecanese. In summer, local ferries run between Patmos, Leros, and Lipsi almost every day.
